Product Details

The newly designed Ekar bottom bracket is tailor - made for the tough demands of all - road and gravel riding and racing. It comes with a powerful double - protection feature. The external sealing ring design, combined with a fiberglass polyamide central tube, effectively blocks water, mud, and grit from getting in. The bottom bracket pairs well with external stainless steel bearings. These bearings are attached to the crank arms as one unit instead of the BB cups, which makes it larger in size and easier to maintain. It sits on a rigid inner axle spindle, offering a smooth, fluid, and consistently predictable performance right from the start. Thanks to the ProTech sealing system, it keeps performing well no matter where and how you ride. The Ekar bottom bracket options provide wide compatibility for various threaded and PressFit applications. The patented dual - sealing ProTech technology securely connects the two semi - axles inside the bottom bracket, protecting the BB bearings from water and mud, ensuring long - lasting high performance even in the harshest riding conditions. The ProTech system, an innovation based on Campagnolo's proven Ultra - Torque technology, has a central Hirth joint. It features self - centering and self - aligning frontal teeth in the middle of the crank where the integrated semi - axles meet. The axles are fixed with a single, protected oversized bolt. This precise connection can even compensate for the slight misalignment in some carbon frames caused by manufacturing tolerances. The ProTech crank system offers torque transmission as efficient as a single - piece axle, and it's lighter. Also, it's more durable as it's better protected than other systems. Oversized stainless steel bearings on the crank, outside the BB shell, provide maximum smoothness and strength due to the increased axle diameter. Specification: Ekar - specific BB cups, oversized external stainless steel bearings, alloy construction, weight of 50g, and a strong fibreglass - polyamide tube.

Using the Ekar bottom bracket is straightforward. First, make sure your bike is compatible with the Ekar - specific BB cups. Then, carefully install the bottom bracket onto the inner axle spindle and attach the external stainless steel bearings to the crank arms. When riding, the ProTech sealing system will protect the bearings from water, mud, and grit. For maintenance, check the bearings regularly for any signs of wear or damage. Clean the bottom bracket after every few rides, especially if you've been riding in muddy or wet conditions. Use a mild cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe it down. If you notice any misalignment or unusual noise, check the central Hirth joint and the single, protected oversized bolt that holds the axles together. Make sure the bolt is tightened properly. Also, keep an eye on the overall performance of the bottom bracket. If it starts to feel less smooth, it might be time for a more thorough inspection or replacement of parts. With proper use and maintenance, your Ekar bottom bracket will serve you well for a long time.
